White Sulphur Springs offers five golf courses for golf enthusiasts looking to hit around a few balls. Another two are still in the realm of a 20-minute drive.
Most notably, the best course in the area is also one of the oldest, the longest, and top-rated. Yes, you guessed it, The Greenbrier.
Play a round of 9 holes at Greenbrier Course Front 9, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Seth Raynor. Twenty-five tee times are available, so grab a few friends and hit the course. There is plenty of tee off room, the service is terrific, and the course gets better every day.
Another incredible 9-hole course to consider is Valley View Country Club. Located at the Valley View Country Club, you will find 3,446 yards of golf fun. The course has been entertaining golfers since 1932, and Ray Vaughn designed this superb, lush green course.
Do not worry; golfers can explore 18 holes at several establishments. One such place is Lewisburg Elks Country Club. Found seven miles from the city in Lewisburg, this country club is a public golf course, 70 par, and rates 66.8.

The Greenbrier Resort also houses The Snead Golf Course, a fascinating 18-hole course affectionately called, The Snead. This par 71 course has been playing host to golfers since 2004, and Thomas Fazio is the designer.
Old White TPC Golf Course, also known as “Old White TPC, and on The Greenbrier rates 76.0, has a slope rating of 145 and designed by Seth Raynor. Charles B. Mac Donald is also a designer, as is Lester George.
Should you not be a fan of outdoor golf in the wintertime, then enjoy some indoor winter golf via the TruGolf Simulator at The Greenbrier. Enjoy playing on a variety of 85 golf courses and 36 different modes of play. Each time you visit, you can experience something different.
This TruTrac tracking system will give you precise feedback on where you hit your ball, is also able to show you the flight of your ball, where to position your head and aid you in improving your golf swing.
Rental rates are per hour and available for up to four people. There are also private lessons and club fittings. One of the perks of using the simulator is that you can bring your own clubs. Do not worry if you cannot. Rentals are available.
While a unique course for The Greenbrier Sporting Club members, and anyone who is a guest of The Greenbrier, The Ashford Short Course is worth talking about, especially if you would prefer a walking course.
This 9-hole course is perfect when you cannot take in a full round due to a business meeting at The Greenbrier.
